The Catoosa PLC LSGT will hold elections...

Each year, the school's Local School Governance Team (LSGT) is required to hold elections for seats on the team. This year, the PLC will hold its elections on Tuesday, August 28th.

Since the positions are 2-year terms, each year we typically have 1 teacher position, 1 parent position, and 1 community position up for election.

If you are a teacher, a parent of a student at the PLC, or a person who lives or works in the Catoosa County community, you are eligible to stand for election to any post that might be open in that year.

The PLC welcomes input from all its community members. If you are wanting to get more involved, please contact our Secretary Tom McMahan at

or phone the PLC at (706) 861-2772

and speak to anyone in our front office. The Team meets once per month and acts, in essence, like a "board" for the school itself. The county school board has to ultimately approve any resolution passed by the school LSGT. Now in it's third year, the LSGT's in Catoosa County schools are beginning to have more autonomy in overseeing the governance of their respective schools.

So, if you'd like to be a part of that, please contact us! Even if you don't want to be on the Team itself, you can still vote in the upcoming election. An electronic ballot will be sent via email to any eligible contacts we have. These ballots will be anonymous and tallied at the end of day August 28th. Those elected to the team will be announced that evening and will begin serving their term with the September 2018 meeting!

Please consider serving your community and our school! Thank you!

Tom McMahan
